Blakely Harbor Cottage
The design for this wonderful cottage in the woods, perched on a seaside cliff, was done together with architect David Lown, AIA. Our client needed an 800 square foot cottage with a separate garage for their numerous guests visiting their waterfront island estate. The architecture of this house correlates to the main house, which has a mountain lodge feel with stonewalls and timbered roofs. Natural landscaping surrounds this cottage to help it nestle in a lushly wooded setting. Guests can use the small office in this one bedroom home while enjoying views of the rocky seashore. The stone column bases, wide porch with swing, shingle siding, broad protecting roof and warm natural interiors all contribute to a memorable stay for gratified guests.
