Bainbridge
Island Racquet Club Renovation (BIRC) The BIRC project was a complete renovation and expansion totaling 55,000 square feet of an existing tennis facility housed in a warehouse-type structure. It included altering the main floor, the addition of recreational pools and installing 11,000 square feet on two new floors. A trellis-covered walkway leads members to a new entrance and the three-story lobby includes a climbing wall with open stairs and an elevator. Facilities for aerobic classes, weight-lighting equipment, and locker rooms were also added. The moveable viewing walls for the racquet and handball courts are another feature that make this project unique. The Lead Architect was Dan Meus of Boston-based Graham/Meus. Working with Dan's sketches, we executed the design phases |

schematic design through contract documents. Eberharter Architects proposed
numerous innovative solutions for the remodel of BIRC, which were well
received by the Owner and Lead Architect. Under a separate and direct
contract for the Owner, Mr. Eisenhardt, we coordinated the local sub-consultants
for the conditional use permit required by the City of Bainbridge Island.
Frequent communication with the design architect and owner was an essential
part of this project’s success. |
